Kindness

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. There’s been a lot going on in life. But I wanted to pop in and share something today.

This morning I was in a rush (as usual) to get to work. I was hastily trying to get in the door when a lady who was all smiles greeted me. She smiled at me and said “your shirt is just like my shoes! I love it!”

I looked at her shoes — they were beautiful blue sandals in the same pattern as my shirt. I told her how beautiful her shoes were. She told me how beautiful my shirt was. We both told each other to have a wonderful day and parted way.

I’ve said it before on this blog and I’ll say it again — never, ever, ever underestimate the value of kindness in this world. That chance encounter formed my entire day. I smiled as I went to my office, greeting people along the way. That stranger’s smile, her kind words transformed my way of thinking today.

Be kind today. Be the light in the world. We need SO much more light.
