There are places you visit because they’re famous.
And then there are places that quietly remind you of something bigger.
Standing beneath Chicago’s Bean, I watched people from every walk of life gather in the same space. Families laughed as they searched for themselves in the reflection. Couples stopped for photos. Friends pointed at the distorted skyline overhead. Travelers speaking different languages smiled at one another, united by the same sense of wonder.
For a few moments, none of the things that usually divide us seemed to matter.
No politics. No headlines. No labels.
Just people sharing the simple joy of being somewhere extraordinary together.

Maybe that’s what travel does best. It reminds us that, beneath all the noise, we’re not so different after all. We all chase sunsets. We all stop for beautiful views. We all want to make memories with the people we love.
The Bean doesn’t ask where you’re from or what you believe. It simply reflects whoever stands before it.
I wish we had more places and more moments like that.

Because the world could use a little more curiosity, a little more kindness, and a few more reminders that we’re all sharing the same view.
Sometimes, the best thing a journey gives us isn’t a photograph.
It’s perspective.
