Joy

First things first before I dive into the topic I’m about to address. I’ve been away from the blog for a while and, for that, I apologize. I had to step away from some things to allow myself to grow and heal from some things.

This post is inspired by a co-worker who has a now 1-year-old grandson. Every time she gets a new video of him she goes from office to office to share it with everyone — her pure joy and pride in her first grandson.

Each time she does this, I am caught up in her joy as she fills me in on her grandson’s latest milestones. It really is a bright spot in my week to get the privilege to share in her joy. She gets to spend a week with him soon, and she’s over the moon. I can’t wait to hear about her week when she gets back.

Don’t be afraid to share your joy with others — post on social media, tell people about it or simply pass along your joy with a smile or kind note. We could all use a bit more joy in our lives right now. Each day on one of my personal accounts I post an affirmation — that varies from reminding people they are loved or reminding them to take some time for themselves each day.

The world needs more light. Sometimes being the light is as simple as what I’ve been doing.

I hope you find joy, today, friends. (And every day).
