Slipped on the wet floor.
Snow coming down around me.
Spring is still sleeping.
It’s a beautiful, snowy day today. I find myself grateful for the wet snow that is sticking to trees and coming down steadily. It’s truly beautiful.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble finding joy lately — between the war in Ukraine and so much going on here in the U.S. I’ve been caught up in the news, feeling helpless and not knowing what I can do. So, to have the snow (which is truly one of my favorite things) falling around me, I find myself taking a degree of comfort in its beauty.
I recently listed to this podcast on NPR and it was truly beautiful. Joy can be and IS all around us. In the snow, in the forest, in listening to a co-worker’s laughter down the hall. It’s hard to find sometimes when the world around us seems to be crumbling, but it’s there.
