How many times do we sit back and think about the people behind the scenes that make life easier for us, for the events we attend, the restaurants we eat at? I could take a guess and say not many of us.
I was thinking about this when I was driving to work and writing that day’s Haiku in my head (no, I don’t write while driving).
Every single day, people that work tirelessly behind the scenes make our lives better. Ever wonder who cleans the bathroom you use in public? Who sweeps the streets that you drive on? Who sets up the restaurant before you arrive? Or who set up the massive stages before concerts? I could go on for days with this paragraph, but you get the idea.
It’s important we thank the people behind the scenes if at all possible. At work, learn the names of the cleaning crew if you see them. Don’t just look past them. Chat up the groundskeeper and tell them how nice the grounds look. Tip well at hotels and restaurants. Have your office pitch in for a gift card for the person who cleans your office. Or even just leave a random card on your desk for the person who cleans your office.
There are so many ways to show your gratitude. And it’s so important.
Stop and say thank you today. You might just make someone’s day.
