Before anybody asks…
Yes, I am one of “those” people who dresses up their dog(s). By dogs plural I mean I have five dogs, three of which indulge in doggie fashion.
My three pound poodle, Mayiah (thus the name of my blog and the little gal in the pink to your left), has more clothes than I do. And I knew I had a problem when I went to Wal-Mart the other day and hit the dog fashion section and…lo and behold, Mayiah has every single article of clothing they currently carry. It’s time for Wal-Mart to step up the pace! They can’t keep up with my dog…errr…me.
Yes, it’s probably nutty. Especially when Mayiah has a wardrobe for every season. Right now I’ve broke out her down filled coat, snowboots and rain coat. And yes, she even has a scarf!
As for the other two that wear clothes, there are two shih tzus: PJ and Chewie. They have a slightly smaller wardrobe…they make far fewer clothes for boy dogs as they do for girl dogs. Get with the program folks!! Boys like fashion too!
So, as as you read this blog…oh yes…I am one of those people…roll your eyes if you want. I’m not the only person in the world that does this. Just go to google and type in “dog apparel.” You will get a return of more than two MILLION hits. Granted anything with those words will show up…but there is store after store on the Internet and across the country there are dog boutiques. The nearest one to me being in Manhattan, Kan.
So yeah…roll eyes…I have no children…my dogs are my children…
