I have been dealing with terrible eye problems. What I have is a severe form of Iritis. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s inflammation of the Iris in my eye. It started out very painful and now is still light sensitive.
WebMD says:
“The iris is made up of muscular fibers that control the amount of light entering the pupil so that we can see clearly. The iris accomplishes this task by making the pupil smaller in bright light and larger in dim light. In some people, the iris can become inflamed. This is termed iritis.”
They are treating my eye with one eye drop to reduce pressure, one to dilate the eye (so the iris can rest) and one steroid to treat the inflammation. Oh, and an oral steroid too because the eye steroid wasn’t quite cutting it.
Currently, I am playing it “cool” at work by wearing sunglasses. Because my eye is dilated, I have to keep the light at bay somehow or it gets to be pretty painful. It’s become quite the joke at work. But at least we all have a sense of humor about it!
So there’s a short synopsis on what’s going on with me. “”
