Desire

“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.” -Napoleon Hill

What is desire? The quote above attempts to sum it up for us. “Desire is the starting point of all achievement…” This is true. Before you achieve something you have to have the desire to achieve it. Don’t think you have the desire? You really do. Even if you’re in a job you hate, you desire that paycheck, which fuels you to do your job. It’s still desire. It’s not “ideal” desire. But it is desire.

But what is true desire? The desire of your heart? The desire of all of our hearts? That is something we each have to define for ourselves. My wish is that all of us have a desire to live, to truly live — not just live for that paycheck or live for Friday — truly live. That is what I’m talking about.

True desire can fuel happiness. It can truly fuel our lives. Do you desire to be happy? Or do you desire to live for a certain day of the week? That is something you’ll have to answer for yourself. It’s all a part of self-discovery. Happy discovering!
