Feeling MUCH better

glitter-graphics.com

Just dropping by to say hi. After four days of a MAJOR headache, I’m finally feeling better (thanks to some facebook advice from friends)!

I exercised a bit today after almost three days doing nothing because my head hurt so dang bad. :0(

So, I wish everybody a GREAT Sunday night, and an AWESOME week!

Bangs met an unfortunate demise

If you can read that, congrats. Haha. It says “Frustration+Scissors+bangs=BAD.

That’s exactly what happened last night. In a bout of extreme frustration with my hair, my diet, and the way my face looked when I had my hair back in a ponytail, I blindly reached for the scissors and lopped probably four inches off my bangs.

So, yeah…..that’s my gripe for the day.

Wee haw! At gym!

This is a picture of a friend of mine at the gym the other day. We decided to try out our local rec center for the first time. B-R-U-T-A-L is the appropriate word for being this out of shape. While it felt good to get moving and use the machines, it wasn’t long before my muscles were screaming at me.

And the cardio machines were the worst. I remember a time in my life when I could spend an hour on the stair stepper with no problem. Sure, it was hard, but I made it through. When my stair stepper told me I had all of four minutes left (when I’d only been on it two) the other day, I thought I was going to die. We won’t talk about how long it took me to give up.

It’s all small steps and all about pacing myself. WAY easier said than done. I want to lose the weight NOW. But like my friend says, I didn’t put it on overnight and it won’t come off overnight either.

Sleep or exercise?

Sleep or exercise?

That was the exact dilemma I was faced with at lunchtime today. A co-worker of mine said she was going to go home and take a nap. Man, it sounded so good. As I ate my healthy meal and started to watch TV on my lunch break I saw a clip from the “Today” show. The lady was talking about healthy choices and small steps that can be taken to achieve those goals. I then realized that taking a nap wasn’t in that realm of healthy steps.

I popped in my “Biggest Loser” exercise DVD and started to exercise. Halfway through the warm-up I wanted to quit and return to the idea of a nap. But, I hung on through every set, every encouragement from the person on the DVD, and made it about 90 percent through the routine. The only reason why I didn’t finish was because I had to get to a meeting and wanted a bit of time to cool down and freshen up. :0)

So, as I type this, my arms are sore, my butt burns but I have a great sense of accomplishment that I chose to stand up, get moving and take yet another step toward my weight loss goal. I’m so proud of myself!

Cheers,

B
